Hello and Happy Sunday! I hope it’s a beautiful day where you are.

This is newsletter number 30! I’m celebrating!

I have my cup of Earl Grey and a Bourbon Biscuit and am ready to share this week’s news.

I hope you have had a week full of blessings, lessons and love.

Here are the powerful lessons and ‘Life hacks’ that I have been lucky enough to learn this week.

Personal Lessons in Confidence

This week my lesson from the Universe has been around self-worth and confidence. And…

Getting clear on what that really looks like.

As I mentioned in previous posts, I have felt compelled to watch several videos from Grant Cardone.

I have had a resistance in the past because I saw him as alpha male, quite egotistical and ‘over the top’.

After taking the time to watch and take notes, I have learned a lot about myself, sales and business.

For myself, I reflected on how I was perceiving Grant and that it said more about me than it did about him. I realised that I see confidence and being self-assured as showing up egotistical and aggressive, when sometimes, it’s not at all. It’s someone standing in their power and their truth, I get Grant cares. He believes (and is) he is making a big difference in the world.

In my willingness to drop my assumptions I learned so much.

The Money Thing.

That was a bit of an eye opener for me and explained why I often don’t follow through on sales, show up enough on social media and generally believe in myself enough to have a $billion business (not that it’s on my radar – it’s not).

I explored my resistance to wanting a $million-dollar business or growing an ‘empire’. I discovered a lot about business strategy, sales and what it takes to attain big numbers. It got me looking at my attitude to money and my own business as it is now. A long journey of discovery.

The key takeaway though is that everything mirrors back to you in order that you learn something. What you do with that lesson is then up to you.

Have you reviewed some of your perceptions about people, definitions around wealth etc. recently.
It’s mid-year, a perfect time to check in with your beliefs and assumptions.

Is what you want to achieve possible with the mindset you have now?
My answer was ‘no’. Powerful stuff!

It gave me a glimpse about showing up in my truth and as who I really am in order to deliver on my purpose, my calling, and navigating theses rocky times.

How to look at your business (life) differently to get the breakthrough you need

I’ve explored the importance of having a ‘vision’ and knowing your ‘why’ in previous Newsletters.

With all the crazy stuff that’s going on in the world, you may be forgiven for losing site of these.

I believe it’s important to know what matters to you right now, in life and business, and using that as your ‘North Start’ through these disruptive times.

What can Grant Cardone teach us about that.

✤ Understand what you really want, the ‘end-result’ you are after to choose the correct strategy

For instance, if you want to build a $Billion Dollar business, starting out with you doing all the work is not really the best way to get there anytime soon. Looking at partnerships, funding, building teams, buying into other ‘rising’ businesses etc. are probably more appropriate strategies.

Asking yourself, what lifestyle do you want? how much input do you want on a day-to-day basis? What level/role do you want to play at? are you willing to do the work required? and many other questions should be answered before you even think about the business model or strategy for your business.

And this applies to life and, particularly now, the future, for our children.
Have you decided what you will and won’t do? What strategy you want to take? What vision are you working toward?

The aim of the business (life) should determine your strategy’.

✤ Know how much want it, how much you are willing to commit and what you are willing to do to achieve your result.

To achieve a $billion business, there are risks you must be willing to take, an attitude and mindset of absolutely knowing it’s possible and you will do it, and a level of resilience which means you roll with the setbacks and don’t take them personally.

For any goal, it is wise to ensure we understand as clearly as possible, what will be asked of us, and set out with the intention to persevere no matter what.

Sometimes victory is found in the last 0.01 % of the work. If you give up at 99%, you may never know how close you have come to victory. And so it is in life, business and battles.

If you are aiming for a lifestyles business, or your goal is to buy a certain car, it takes the same amount of confidence in the goal although the challenges to achieve the goal will be different.

In my opinion, depending on where you are starting (mindset, skillset, competency, adaptability, agency etc.) will determine how much you have to learn and how far you have to go to get the end result.

If you want to accelerate you progress you must be willing to do more in a day than the average person. You need to think strategically and as far ahead as possible.

Repetitive learning, practice, practice, practice, get comfortable with the uncomfortable then prepare to get uncomfortable again. Sounds like a summary of the last three years.

What does this look like?

In business terms, it could be making more sales calls, reaching out to more people, building more contacts, asking more often, speaking to those you believe will never speak with you, and then doing it all again ($Million).

In life, it could be getting better at managing your emotions, standing in your truth and your values when others disagree so much they leave, standing for what you want that is right and strong, defending relationships that matter, showing up unapologetically as you, stepping into your gifts and talents, and leading when you don’t want to.

✤ Know the value of relationships, contacts, collaboration and community.

As we move forward in these volatile times, who we know is becoming increasingly important (and it always was).
Finding or creating your tribe, your community of like-focused souls in business or in life will be key to how easily we navigate the times ahead.

This is an area I have purposely neglected. I had some strange notion that I should be an ‘island’. I should do everything myself and not reach out to collaborate or build community, or relationships.

This, I recognised this week, comes from two areas. 1) believing myself a burden – so why would anyone connect to me.
2) Having so many people in my life die in a short period of time.

What I have learned is that by restricting myself and avoiding connection, I have created the exact thing I was hoping to avoid – I see where my unconscious focus has been.

This is changing for me quickly, as I build new business alliances, work with new communities and establish new collaborative relationships.

What can you do today to foster them?

Watching training and videos from Grant Cardon have moved me to a different place in my life, definitions and perspective. I have been willing to acknowledge where I have been hiding behind excuses for not getting the results I was hoping for. That includes taking the time to really listen to people who have built business or achieved great relationships or are making massive contributions to the planet.

Mainly I have been applying the wrong strategy to the ‘game’ I am playing. Also, I have not had the mindset to truly believe I can achieve what I want in the current circumstances. A little bit of mind control and lot of self-doubt and fear.

I am making changes, taking actions that will help me build resilience in myself, my life and my business. The time is upon us.
